TY - JOUR T1 - Solid State Gadolinium-Magnesium Hydride Optical Switch JF - Applied Physics Letters Y1 - 1999/09// SP - 1863 EP - 1865 A1 - Robert D. Armitage A1 - Michael D. Rubin A1 - Thomas J. Richardson A1 - Nada O'Brien A1 - Yong Chen AB - The optical switching properties of gadolinium-magnesium hydride have been demonstrated in a solid-state electrochromic device. With positive polarization of the hydride electrode, the visible reflectance approaches 35% with virtually zero transmission, while with negative polarization, the visible transmission exceeds 25% at 650 nm. The switching is reversible, with intermediate optical properties between the transparent and reflecting states. VL - 75 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.124853 IS - 13 U1 -
